About Me

My photo
I have a wonderful husband and bouncing boy, who is growing faster and faster as the days go by. I love to play with him and watch him learn and grow. My two boys are the things I am most proud of in this world and I love them to pieces...like father...like son!

Anniversary Not Universary

June 16, 2001 Keith and I said "I Do"

8 Years later, we are still in love, share new traditions and our wonderful home with our new addition, Gavin and our old addition, Chey Chey. I met Keith when I was 15 years old and fell in love when I was 17 years old. I believe I claimed that "I would marry him someday" when I was 18 years old and wrote "Mrs Kelly Siebert" on notebooks and letters and wherever else I could...don't you remember when you young in love? We have gone through our struggles, picked ourselves up and are stronger each day. We have celebrated so much excitement! We love, we live, we laugh together. We are by no mean perfect...just your average, everyday, couple.

It seems to have always been "Keith's thing" to conjure up something creative and romantic for our Anniversary and I sort of just sit back and enjoy the planned pampering. This year was a little different...with a toddler, you have to have a little more planning, so I mentioned to Keith about sitter plans and it didn't seem that Anniversary plans were working out in his favor this year. Since having Gavin, Keith has ALWAYS graciously taken a back seat. So, I thought, for a change, I should surprise Keith and plan our Anniversary date. For the first time in a long time, I put Keith FIRST!! After all, it is an Anniversary, NOT a UNIversary!

I took the day off work, planned breakfast for the three of us, called in the Calvary (Mamaw and Pappy), packed Gavin's bag, dropped him off after breakfast, got our movie tickets (Hangover)and called friends to meet us at the lake after the movie...I had to throw in something for myself (the movie!). Now, most of you might think to yourselves, that doesn't sound very romantic...movies...friends...lake. But, you see, the day was planned with Keith FIRST and the things we enjoy doing together. So, to us, it was perfect! I must say, while it's fun to get dressed up, go to fancy dinners and hotels, it's also nice just to sit back, relax, and be yourselves. I can't say it enough...it was perfect!

As I reflected back on all of the things we loved doing together, they were all simple pleasures...eating at Chili's, sitting at Starbucks talking for hours, 4Wheeling, Lake Running, Going to the Movies, etc...It was fun planning and spending an entire day and night with my husband...thanks to Mamaw and Pappy for helping...here's to another year!!!
