About Me

My photo
I have a wonderful husband and bouncing boy, who is growing faster and faster as the days go by. I love to play with him and watch him learn and grow. My two boys are the things I am most proud of in this world and I love them to pieces...like father...like son!

Camping Weekend

Step 1. Make the list
Step 2. Forget the list and "wing it"
Step 3. Buy the supplies
Step 4. Pack the car
Step 5. Leave the house
Step 6. Leave the house
Step 7. Leave the house

Are you following me? Who ever thought it would be difficult to get 4 people out of the house...not only to meet at the house and then to leave, but to get out the door. Yep, that's how we roll. I plan for us to leave at 10 so we will actually leave at noon. Because if I plan for noon, we don't leave until 2. You get the drift. But, it's ok. Because we get there, we have fun and why do we need a schedule? I guess I am such a stickler on the schedule because if I am going to leave my son behind, then I want to maximize my time away to be as productive as possible so that I feel justified for him not being with us! Crazy, I know, but that's just how my mind works.

We hit Lake Texoma. Drop in and are off to do some wake boarding! Yay! Karle gets up on the wake board and rides for a while...mission accomplished! It's slowly getting dark and we have seen this water trampoline all day, just calling our name. But, it was quite obvious that it belonged to the church camp that was at the top of the hill. Dying to jump on it...Rob heads up to "ask" permission. It's on!!! We all climb up. We all jump. We catapult Keith into the air and have a blast!! It was like being 7 yrs old, all over again!

OK, now it is dark and we still have to setup camp...to the car to load the camping stuff. We are just staying for one night, right?!?! It was a feat, but we got everything loaded and set up Keith's super sonic mega spot light so that the guys could see while setting up the tent. Good job guys! Karle and I managed the situation from the boat and changed into dry clothes and waited patiently while the guys were setting up the tent! We could have been cooking dinner, but nope, we decided to hang out!

Tent is set, fire is roaring, camp stove is lit and we have dinner and drinks on the way! Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Drinks, Chips, Drinks, Smores, Drinks! We were set!! We took turns gathering fire wood and ended up keeping our fire going until 4am when we finally decided to hit the sack! I still couldn't sleep though...I thought I was tired, but all I could do was look up at the stars (which we don't see often where we live). It was great!

We rise, with the heat and sun. The boat is covered in bugs. The breakfast needs to be made. The tent needs to be broken down. The camp site needs to be cleaned and all we want to do is sleep and wake board! We powered through, got everything situated and headed to lunch at Lowe's Highpoint Restaurant.

Finally on the lake again and we hit some wake boarding! I am getting much more comfortable on the wake board and even managed a little toe side to heel side turning. Yay! Maybe next summer I will conquer a JUMP!

All in all, we had an "Ahsum" time. We packed it up early and headed home to see Gavin and watch the Cowboys game! Yay!

All in all, the weekend was a blast and I did not want it to end! I wished my friends lived with us so we could have that much fun ALL the time!! I am definitely a ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY type person!
