Rise and Shine!!
We started Family Fun Day in a bit of a frenzy...getting everyone up, dressed and out the door was a little more challenging today than I had anticipated! But, we made it and were even early!
Our day started at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
Miss Ashley was nice enough load 6 full size watermelons, her camera and creativity and meet us for a 2 hour, 500 picture photo session!! You think I am kidding...just ask Ashley!!
With everyone "dressed to impress" and ready to go, we were off!! Our first stop, a park bench, where Gavin just had to "ssssiiittt." Our next stop...the next park bench...you see, he wanted to sit on all the park benches! Once we explained to him that there were more "fun" things to see and do besides sit on the park benches, we were set!
We found a beautiful "tree" tunnel that led to some froggies spitting water!
Which, as you can imagine, Gavin LOVED!!
Note to self...don't take your kiddo to the "water" section until the END of the photo shoot!
Needless to say, we walked ALL OVER the grounds, got a ton of shots, and had only ONE minor injury. Injury...you act surprised??? Yep, what would the day be if Gavin didn't run into something, fall, or bust something! It was extremely dramatic when he fell face first into the stone walkway. But, when the blood was cleaned and the tears were wiped, it wasn't all that dramatic. Daddy felt worse than Gavin and was beating himself up...Accidents happen! It's a good thing that it happened towards the END of the photo shoot and matched the RED in the watermelons!! Gav has a nice couple of busted lips and a scraped knee to show for the adventure! Boys!!!

I can't WAIT to see the actual pics Ash got!!!
After picture morning and walking all over the entire Arboretum...and of course Gavin HAD to walk the WHOLE morning...he was exhausted. THANK YOU ASHLEY!!!!!
Home to watch the Ohio State game...that's where we were headed!! O-H...I-O...Gooooooo Bucks!!! With a little nap on the way home and another nap at home...we were finally ready for the end of our day!
Gavin had yet to be on the boat this summer, so we thought we would give it a "Go" this afternoon/evening. Once he woke up from his nap...we were off to the Lake!
(Yes, I know...our home away from home, but I didn't buy a boat to watch it sit in storage, so Lake rats we will be!!)
Gav was a trooper! He LOVED it. It didn't hurt that Grandpa and Nana Jo were there to give him their undivided attention! He didn't fuss one bit when we put his life jacket on...he didn't fuss when we took off or went fast! In fact, the ONLY time he fussed was when Keith and I would Wake board and then fall...once we were down, so was Gavin! He was NOT liking the idea of Mommy or Daddy "crashing."

Nice little busted lip, but it didn't get him down!!
We left the schedules, rituals, and bed times at home and just had fun! What a GREAT day!!!
