MinxMe Bridgette!
Have you heard of Minx? Have you seen Minx? Have you tried Minx? Well, you MUST!
Go ahead, splurge! There is a special occasion waiting just around the corner...always!
I have seen Minx advertised in the nail salon where we frequently get Mani's and Pedi's, but didn't pay much attention to them...that is, until I saw the Sex And The City 2 Movie. My eyes caught the glow of Samantha's GOLD nail polish and I fell in Love. From the shiny appearance, I figured that it was NOT nail polish and had to be Minx. So, I logged onto Google and did some investigating. Sure enough, I was right...she was wearing Minx! So, in preparation for an upcoming photo shoot...I decided to take the plunge and try out a set of Minx for my nails and toes and here is what I have to say...
DO NOT go to a typical nail salon to get Minx. Find someone that is detail oriented and has been doing it for a while. While it seems new to the massive array of women wanting Minx, it has actually been around for a while. Like with anything, once the celebrity's start wearing it, it becomes the new "It" thing to do, wear, say, or be. Well, there were only three or four people in the whole Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex that are listed as Minx technicians. I happened to find one that was close to our office...thank you Bridgette!!! So, I called her up and she was already headed home for the evening, but I explained what I was trying to do and she returned to the salon, just to do my nails! What service!!! I was a little apprehensive and a lot excited!!
It took her about an hour and a half for a Mani/Pedi, but she was meticulous...detail-oriented...chatty and a WHOLE lot of FuN! Once we were finished, I couldn't believe how in love I was with the look, and there are SOOOOOOO many designs to choose from. I thanked her endlessly and was on my way!
I am proud to report that I am still wearing my Minx, on my toes anyways, and her Mani/Pedi was one of the longest lasting I have had in a while! My feet are still looking and feeling soft and fresh!
Now, I will say, I was a little annoyed by the Minx nail applications. I admit...I am a nail biter and anytime my nails would snag or tear or I would accidentally bite at them, I would mess up the Minx. So, I wasn't as excited about ever getting Minx on my nails again...maybe for a special occasion, but not for every day use! I am too hands-on for Minx nails!
