My Dearest Gavin, today is your birthday and the day that you changed our lives forever. We eagerly anticipated your arrival. We couldn't wait to meet you...to see what color hair you would have...to see who you would resemble the most and to kiss you and welcome you into this world. We planned, we painted, we assembled and we prepared our lives for your homecoming...or so we thought!! You, not once, ceased to amaze us!!
You were and continue to be a very ACTIVE baby...you get that from your Daddy. As a matter of fact, I think I am going to have to have a "Hobby Bucket Room" for you too...you are gaining on Daddy with your gear and gadgets...I think Daddy is helping you with that feat. You are your own kind of socialite baby...you get that from Mommy. You have steal blue eyes and beautiful, platinum, Blonde, wavy hair. So, in my opinion, you resemble us both just perfectly.
We have documented all of your "Firsts" to include: first smile, first coo, first time to roll over, first booboo, first tooth, first time eating solid foods, first bottle of formula, first time to crawl, first time in a swing, first time in a pool, first time on a plane, first time to crawl, first word, first "trick," first time to say "Mama" and "Daddeee"...we could go on and on forever, but we will spare all the other people reading about you!
You have brought us an undying amount of unconditional love...something I thought I knew about, but had no idea until I experienced my connection and bond to you! We are excited to see what God has in store for you and know that he has surrounded you with angels to help you along your path. We love you dearly and will always be there for you, even when you don't think you need us. Thank you for changing our lives and bringing to us a new found love and respect.
