- I have set a GOAL: White Rock Half Marathon in December!
- I have researched training programs. (Thanks to my friends for the links!)
- I have solicited advice from friends! (thanks...you know who you are!)
- I have started to work my way up to running a couple of miles a week!
I am well on my way to meeting my Goal...or at least getting started on it!!
As most of you know...I don't have too many hobbies. I usually just tag along with whatever adventure Keith happens to be fond of, at the moment.
Which, has become quite the collection of adventures, if I do say so myself! Love ya babe!
Well, Since I had decided to pursue something for myself...accomplish a goal that I was setting & something that I could call "My Own," I decided that I needed some tools to help me along the way in training for my end result! So began the search for a treadmill!!! I called all of the local second hand sports stores...everything was $800 or higher! I called some friends wanting to sell their used treadmill...that was $600. I scoured craigslist and found a few listings. I emailed and called and finally got a response from a couple that lived only a few blocks from my parents house. I set up a time to go take a look at the treadmill. My sis and my Daddy (we had to take Daddy just in case these people were creepy killers OR on a good note, we liked it and bought it and needed help loading it up!) all loaded up and headed over the these apartments to meet this couple. It turns out that they moved from a house into an apartment and had all of their disposable belongings in a rented garage. Obviously, they needed money because I practically stole this "deal" from them!! This treadmill retailed for $900-$1000 and I got it for $250. Oh, yeah!!!
After we purchased the treadmill and made it out of there unscathed, we headed to the house to unload...this trip, however, was just me and Dad and what a trip!!! I will leave all of the details out, but let's just say it consisted of PROPERLY installing some washers, bolts and nuts, un-installing the aforementioned units (to get thru the doorways) and re-attaching the aforementioned materials...once the treadmill was in place! Whew! After 45 minutes and a lot of patience, we made it! It was plugged in, tucked away in it's place and ready to go!! Whoooohooo!
Thanks Daddy for all of your patience, blood, sweat and handy man work!
If I am out of breathe when you call me, it's because...
I am gettin' started...
runnin' & runnin', runnin' & runnin', runnin'...
everybody, let's get into it...get started!! Ha!
