We commenced at Gia's for some "dress up", car playing, last minute kiddo squeezing, a few more wardrobe changes...and then, we were off to let loose and relax with some great friends at Mamie's house!! I must say, the night consist of good food (to include spiked watermelon), free flowing drinks, good music, beautiful friends and even a Sombrero...yes, I said it, a Sombrero. Oh, and don't think for one second that my sister Gia didn't ROCK that hat! It's like it was magic, she put it on and whaaallaaa, party time!
After a ton of fun on the lake and some much needed relaxation, we decided to head in before dark and catch a movie. After all, we don't have a curfew! To the house for a quick shower and change! Denton Movie Tavern, here we come. Transformers was the movie of choice...autobots transform! I will have to admit. I had never thought of going to Denton to see a movie, but honestly, it was just as close as Plano to our house. We got discounted tickets and the food was pretty good!! Overall, I would say this made our day, perfect!! Thanks for the recommendation, Rob!!
Sunday: Lazy Day, or NOT!
So, Friday was a blast, Saturday was a blast and Sunday was not too far behind!! I headed into my Mom's to see Gavin and decide what we were going to do for the day since the guys (Keith and Rob) were headed back out to the lake!! Gav was a bit fussy, so we decided to "Pool It" in Mamaw's back yard. It lasted an hour or so, we had fun throwing all the balls out of the pool!! Inside we go for a change in clothes, snack and a little of the British Open. I know most of you think I am kidding, but I am NOT, Gavin actually loves to watch golf with Pappy!! It's cute! Mamaw taught him to say, " In the hole" when they show the putting!!
So, in all his GLORY (angels singing in his head, for sure) Pappy decided Gavin was old enough for his FIRST set of clubs! They instantly, went shopping on Saturday while we were at the lake. It did not take long for Gavin to learn how to swing and now, he is off! Oh, and don't think for one minute about taking his clubs away from him...or else be prepared for the wrath of Gavin Siebert! I know that since the day Gavin was born, my Dad dreamed of this moment in time and it was finally here...now, the next milestone will be when he finally makes it to the golf course to play with Pappy for real! Needless to say, we just hung around and relaxed all day...
That is UNTIL, oh, about, 9:45pm when I get a call from my husband..."I don't know how to tell you this..." I am thinking he wrecked the boat! All I can hear in my head is cha-ching! Only because he was saying it with a guilty voice, like he had really messed something up. Well, he did...HIMSELF!! Yep, he was just giving me a courtesy call to let me know that he was heading to the ER for some stitches to his ear, but that he was going to have to come home first and didn't want to scare me. Oh, ok. Scared. No. Worried. Yes. Anything with head is not fun. Don't ask him or me what happened, because he really doesn't know. He doesn't remember feeling the board hit him in the head (maybe that's half the problem) and has no idea how his ear got cut, it just did and is bad enough to need stitches. *Sigh* My boys...if it's not my son, it's my husband. I wonder if they give discounts at the ER. I guess I should get used to it if I am going to raise a boy as adventurous as my husband!!
That's it...that's all I've got. Maybe tomorrow night, I will go to bed before 1AM. Whew! At least we had FUN!!
